Set in the elegant York Room at Hawksworth, the evening begins with a welcome cocktail, followed by a seated three-course dinner as two of Canada’s leading voices in women’s health guide guests through an illuminating conversation on hormones, metabolism, and wellbeing at every stage of womanhood.

Dr. Bal Pawa, physician, pharmacist, and co-founder of the Westcoast Women’s Clinic, brings over 30 years of expertise in Integrative Women’s Health. Certified in Mind-Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Pawa bridges modern science with holistic care—helping women understand how hormonal balance influences energy, mood, and vitality.

Dr. Brittany Schamerhorn, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with advanced training in perimenopause care and hormone health, offers a refreshingly practical approach to midlife wellness. Through root-cause insight, functional medicine, and deep listening, she has helped hundreds of women find clarity, balance, and confidence during times of change.

Following the presentations, guests will enjoy a fireside-style conversation with both doctors—an engaging and candid dialogue designed to demystify hormones and empower women with actionable strategies for thriving. Dr. Bal Pawa

Integrative Physician | Women’s Health Expert, TEDx Speaker | Best Selling Author

Dr. Pawa is uniquely qualified as a pharmacist and medical doctor. With over 30 years of experience as a physician focusing on Integrative Women’s Health, and is a Co-founder of Westcoast Women’s Clinic. She obtained certification in Mind-Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is also a Certified Menopause Clinician and has completed additional studies in functional Medicine: Neuroplasticity, Gut, Brain, and Autoimmune disease. Dr. Pawa is a passionate advocate for bringing evidence-based medicine to the masses and empowering people with knowledge. She has been an invited speaker on radio, television, and community events, and presented health lectures to corporations across Canada, the USA, and the UK. Her TED talk on stress management has over a million views. Dr. Pawa’s best-selling book The Mind-Body Cure provides tools for self-care, as people struggle to reclaim their health in a world of stress. As a clinical instructor at UBC Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Pawa continues to educate, inspire and mentor young physicians and pharmacists with her passion for learning and teaching. She is currently working on several upcoming books on women’s health and functional food as medicine.

Dr. Brittany Schamerhorn

Dr. Schamerhorn is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with advanced training in perimenopause care, hormone health, metabolic care, and traditional + functional lab testing.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Schamerhorn has helped hundreds of women understand what’s really going on in their bodies — especially during the confusing, often dismissed years of perimenopause and hormonal change.

Through personalized lab testing, root-cause care, and evidence-based treatment plans, Dr. Schamerhorn works with women to get real answers — and real relief — from symptoms that have too often been brushed off or misunderstood.

This isn’t about throwing a supplement at your fatigue or blaming your mood on your age.

It’s about looking at the full picture — hormones, thyroid, stress response, metabolism, sleep, and more — and designing a strategy that’s personalized, practical, and grounded in clinical experience.

Based in Vancouver, she serves on the boards of The Dr. Peter Centre and Rise, and supports organizations such as BC Cancer Foundation, Arts Umbrella, and Covenant House. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, writing, and time with her husband, David, and their two children, and close friends who share her love of meaningful connection and community.
